Fond du Lac, Wis. (September 14, 2020): The Fond du Lac Charity Club announced today based on an abundance of caution it will not host their in-person signature fundraising event – the Charity Ball in 2020.
The Charity Ball was scheduled for Friday, December 4 at Hotel Retlaw.
“Our priority is the health and safety of our attendees, event staff, and Charity Club members, and as such we are following the recommendations of local and national health experts by cancelling the event which normally sees attendance of over 275 individuals,” said Donna Pierce, Charity Ball Co-Chair.
All proceeds raised from the event are used to assist children in the area. 60 percent of the proceeds are earmarked to the milk fund and the remaining funds are used to support local charitable organizations, families, or specific projects which benefit children. In 2019, the Charity Ball raised $76,000.
This is a big year for Charity Club in what would have been its 120th year. Even though the Charity Club is not hosting the in-person event, the Charity Club will carry on their traditional fundraising methods and offering fresh new virtual events.
- Cash raffle tickets will be available for purchase. Tickets are 1 for $20, 3 for $50 or 6 for $100
- A virtual silent auction will be held by using Text2Bid. The silent auction will be available via Text2Bid by texting the key word MILK to 71760 starting at noon on Monday November 30.
- Charity Ball at home. Stay tuned as more details will be released.
“We appreciate the generous support from our past attendees, sponsors, and donors of the Charity Ball. As the fundraising will be different this year, we continue to ask for your continued support,” said Ellen Kant, Charity Club president.
